Abstract
1.1. A new method of continuous-drop subarachnoidal block for labor and delivery with an 0.5 per cent procaine solution has been described.2.2. By means of this “differential” technique, complete pain relief can be afforded early to parturients without significant interference with the process of labor and delivery.3.3. Because the method allows a great latitude in the level of analgesia, the continuous presence of the anesthesiologist is not necessary.4.4. The technique is safe. Maternal and fetal complications attributable to the method were negligible.
