Abstract

A 100-m-long clad tape consisting of Ag–0.1%Cu alloy and Ag–10%Ni core metal was prepared uniformly by the cold roll method. The recrystallization of the clad tape and the deposition of YBa 2Cu 3O 7 film by PLD were performed continuously in the reel-to-reel vacuum system using as-rolled clad tape. A uniform superconducting tape which had a J c value of 1.5×10 5 A/cm 2 ( I c=7.5 A) was obtained in 5-m lengths at a deposition tape speed of 2 m/h.
