Abstract
Alumina-zirconia composite powder containing 16wt% ZrO 2 was synthesized in a continous-flow reactor from commercial, narrow size-distribution alumina powder and zirconium n-propoxide. Sintered specimens showed a fine-grained, homogeneous microstructure. Preliminary mechanical properties are reported.
