Abstract

This work aimed to analyze the contextualization of physics teaching in high school based on theBNCC and point out suggestions for the application of the pedagogical assumptions set out in the document. For that, the bibliographical research on the BNCC is used as methodological aspects, defining as an action proposal a class on the physical properties of ceramic materials for high school students for the development of students regarding the document's guidelines. The results of the pedagogical action indicate that the contextualization of the contents gives meaning to the subjects studied, as students can perceive the relevance of applying knowledge to technological advancement, as they were able to assess the harms and benefits of the use of ceramic materials, through critical reflection on materials, as well as building the ability to argue and analyze proposals for intervention, considering ethical and environmental aspects historically linked to the scientific-technological development of materials, having as a point of interest the knowledge of physical properties. Thus, the approach suggested here didactically reflects the pedagogical assumptions of contextualization of teaching, according to the BNCC, for the development of essential skills and abilities for students.KEYWORDS: Ceramics.Physical properties.BNCC.Physics teaching.
