Abstract

This research aims to determine the barrier to implementing GSCM practices by wood-based furniture SMEs at Jepara Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. This research uses a literature review to identify the relevant barrier. Then, this research uses the integration of the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) and Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) to find the cause and effect and hierarchical structures among barriers to implementing GSCM practices. Based on a literature review, this research identified six characteristics as a barrier. The result indicated that, according to the DEMATEL-ISM integration analysis, lack of top management involvement (B5), cost and financial constraints (B4), lack of knowledge (B3), and lack of technological support (B2) fall into the cause group with the most significant causality and also lie in the root layer.
