Abstract

This contribution serves as a primer, identifying critical challenges to the teaching of Law and Development in Africa. It details landmarks in the African development trajectory, highlighting the vacuum which its omission from the scope of law and development studies creates. Using the lens of law and development teaching at the Great Zimbabwe University, it explores how some of the identified challenges can be addressed and offers some ideas for the design of law and development courses in Africa.
