Abstract

Magnesium as well as a number of other bioelements like calcium, zinc, copper and iron play an important role in a proper work of the whole “chain” of intracellular metabolism. Demand for trace elements in the developmental age of a man is increased and their supply in food often too small. One of the methods used to determine the level of elements in a human organism is the biochemical analysis of hair. Diagnostic usability of that method is proved by the works of many authors, who revealed a correlation between elements in hair and their intracellular contents in an organism, both in the case of physiological balance and in pathological states. The aim of this job was determination of current contents of some bioelements (magnesium, calcium, zinc, copper and iron) in hair of developmental age population i.e. from 1st to 20th year of life and their comparison with normal ranges published by other authors.
