Abstract

Based on the most recently available petrochemical data from China’s Continent and the thickness of the crust, the authors have calculated the contents of carbon, sulfur and phosphorus in the lithosphere of China’s Continent (including the sedimentary metamorphic structural layer, the granite layer and the basalt layer) and their distribution in the major types of rocks. In addition, a discussion is made on the significance of the results in the study of global circulation of carbon, sulfur and phosphorus.
