Abstract

In the Internet of Things (IoT), things include variety of objects like computers, sensor nodes, RFID tags, vehicles, medicines, books, etc., and these things can be uniquely identified for the addressing and communicating each other. As the key part of the Internet architecture, naming scheme is crucial change brought by the vision of the IoT. Classical naming schemes like IP and URI are facing great challenges due to adopted features and have been altered and broaden to endure with all the aspects. Other identification schemes are also offered for distinct causes. The building of new naming schemes within future Internet architecture projects has brought fresh thoughts and fresh answers. In this paper, we propose a naming scheme called content-centric global Id for addressing the problems of mobility, scalability and energy conservation challenges effectively. The advantage of the proposed method is delivering simple routing approach that exclusively depends on content and efficient content distribution.
