Abstract
Today's content management systems produce Web pages on the fly that look just like ones handcrafted by humans. However, many CMSs' URLs are extremely long and undiscipherable, so you might not be able to tell what's on that page by just looking at the URL. While those systems' designers seem to know little about how users will use that content, other CMSs are more user-friendly. This essay explores differing CMS requirements and goals.
