Abstract

This essay identifies four substantive features of contemporary rhetorical criticism. These descriptive claims support the conclusion that contemporary rhetorical theory and criticism is distinct from the Aristotelian, modern, and neo‐Aristotelian schools of rhetorical theory and criticism.
