Abstract

This volume of expertly discussed topics was dedicated to the late Marvin H. Quickert, MD, a frequent and original contributor to the field of ophthalmic plastic surgery. His presentation on repair of the lacrimal system covers current and most suitable methods in lacrimal trauma surgery: clinical examples are used to clarify appropriate techniques. The publication's 14 papers cover a multiplicity of topics of primary interest to the ophthalmic plastic surgeon. Dissertations on a wide variety of oculoplastic entities, including the repair of colobomas, gunshot wounds, blow-out and naso-orbital fractures, provide a wealth of information gathered by the authors. The cosmetic complications of blepharoplasty are discussed, and scleral transplantation procedures are culminated by considerations of cryosurgery of basal cell carcinomas. Many presentations are of excellent quality with stress on practical approaches to difficult surgical problems. A little gem of a book.
