Abstract
This chapter will review contemporary surgical management for recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) in adults. Surgery is therapeutic, but not curative of RRP. With the evolution of modern technology, RRP can now be managed in the office, and/or in the operating room. Surgical techniques vary greatly, including different lasers (KTP and CO2 are the most common), microdebrider, and cold steel. The choice of the treatment setting and surgical techniques depends on patient disease burden, patient preference, surgeon expertise, and surgeon preference. Several controversial subjects in management of adult-onset RRP remain and these will be discussed.
