Abstract

The prevalence of contamination of pasture with larvae of gastrointestinal nematodes permanantly grazing by sheep and goat in Tandojam and surrounding areas monitoring during June to September 2010. The results of the present research indicated that 29 (48.33%) out of 60 herbage samples were found positive for the nematode larvae. The highest percentage was recorded in Sindh Agriculture University foot ball ground (66.66%), Hockey Ground (66.66%) and Tando Qaiser (66.66%) followed by Mir Colony (50%), Village Muhammad Saleh Khaskeli (50%), Village Jam Samo (50%), Kesana Mori (33.33%), Tandojam Road (33.33%), Tandojam Grave (33.33%) and Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Animal Sciences (33.33%). 13 (43.33%) and 16 (53.33) herbage samples were found positive before and after the rain season respectively.
