Abstract
The problem of the impression of two symmetrical rectangular stamps with narrow rectangular bases into an elastic isotropic half-space under the effect of vertical forces is considered. An integral transform solution is developed to reduce the solution of the problem into a Fredholm integral equation of second kind. An expression for the pressure on the contact areas is derived. Finally, numerical results are obtained and displayed graphically.
