Abstract

AbstractThe static contact angle hysteresis on pendant bubbles was measured with pure and surface modified regenerated cellulose and compared with model‐theoretical considerations. The interfacial tensions were calculated by the method of geometrical mean. The experimental results prove that regenerated cellulose is covered by a closed water film, which is ruptured by hydrophobic islands after surface modification.
