Abstract
To stablish the energy and macronutrient intake pattern and to determine the behavior stage in relation to physical activity and anthropometric characteristcs in an adolescent population according to the self-evaluation of body appearance, were evaluated 28 female adolescents from 14 to 17 years of age (x = 16.16 + 0.83) divided according the self-evaluation of body appearance in G1: obese, G2: normal weight and G3: thin. To stablish the diary energy intake pattern was used 4-day-food register. The anthropometric variables measured was body weight, height, adiposity (by mean of seven skinfolds) and body mass index. The sexual maturation was determined according to Tanner stages (pubic hair x = 5.5 + 0.9 and breast x = 5.0 + 0.5). The statistical analysis used was One-Way Anova with post-hoc Scheffe. The level of significance adopted was p < .01. The G1 presented high but not significant values of body weight, height and BMI and significant high values of adiposity than the other groups. The energy intake values were lower in the G1 in relation to G2 and G3. Other factor of the energy intake pattern of G1 is the result presented in the self-evaluation of the body weight, that may be contribute to the lower food-intake of adolescents for control body weight. In relation to physical activity behavior, the adolescents were classified in the precontemplation stage of physical activity. Uniterms: Adolescence, body image, food intake, physical activity
