Abstract

In this paper I present a postmodern feminist followup to a systemic consultation I conducted with myself in 1984 regarding a work/family dilemma I was experiencing at that time. The theoretical paradigm that I was using in 1984 was a variant of Milan systemic practice. In the follow-up, I analyze the ways my understanding of the systemic approach drew my attention to personal themes and away from the socio-historical matrix within which work/family dilemmas are constructed. I suggest a radically collaborative method as a way of incorporating a gender analysis into the conversational domain.
