Abstract

SummaryLatin grammars show a varied repertoir of the so called "impersonal" constructions. However under that label we find rather different phenomena exhibiting several regularity degrees. Together with real impersonal constructions, i.e., passive voice third person Singular forms, lacking subject, object and agent, other items such as weather and ethical verbs are added to the paradigm, though these conform a particular closed group that cannot be mirrored by others.
