Abstract

For the application to underground multiplexing coded sonar, orthogonal Huffman sequences with long length and wide ZCZ are proposed. The orthogonal sequences are constructed by inserting zero values between each value of element sequences of an original sequence and replacing by the other element sequences of less zeroes. The orthogonal sequences are given by two types of lengths M 0 = 8μ +1 and M 0 = 6μ +1 (μ = 2,4,8,…). The above sequences are extended by inserting zeroes between adjacent sequence values and the minimum length element sequence is replaced by a nonzero sequence which gives ZCZ. For an underground sonar, we select final length M = 12001, user number L = 4 and ZCZ 500 or 250 for original length M 0 = 25 or M 0 = 49.
