Abstract

Under a set of conditions consistency of fuzzy preference relations can be characterised by almost continuous self-dual uninorms. Consequently, the concept of U-consistent fuzzy preference relation is introduced. Amongst the many consistency properties proposed for reciprocal fuzzy preference relations, Taninopsilas multiplicative transitivity property, being an example of such type of uninorms, seems to be an appropriate U-consistency property for reciprocal fuzzy preference relations. We present results towards the characterization of the U-consistency property of a fuzzy preference relation based on a restricted set of n-1 preference values, which can be used in practical cases to construct perfect U-consistent preference relations.
