Abstract
This paper is concerned with the description of almost automorphic symbolic minimal flows in terms of particular closed covers of their maximal equicontinuous factors. It is shown that every almost automorphic symbolic minimal flow arises from a separating cover of its maximal equicontinuous factor; and that every compact metric monothetic group occurs as the maximal equicontinuous factor of an almost automorphic symbolic minimal flow on two symbols.
