Abstract
A novel cadmium coordination polymer, namely, {[Cd(Htcpb)(DMF)(H2O)2]·1.5H2O}n(1) has been hydrothermally synthesized from Cd(NO3)2·4H2O and a flexible triangle ligand of 1,3,5-tris(4-carboxyphenoxy)benzene (H3tcpb). The structure has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, elemental analysis, IR spectrum, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermanalysis. The structural analysis displays that complex 1 obtained at 120 °C features a 1D chain containing mononuclear cadmium centers. The fluorescence property of complex 1 was examined in the solid-state at room temperature, and upon excitation at 290 nm, it exhibits distinct fluorescence with the maximum emission at 389 nm.
