Abstract
An X-radiographic study of a wooden Japanese sculpture of Fudo-Myoo attributed to the Fujiwara period was conducted in order to investigate its method of construction and thus provide additional information as to the stylistic evaluation of this work. The study revealed important details of the multiple woodblock technique of construction for which there exist only a limited amount of information and no written records.
