Abstract

2D/2D MoS2/PbBiO2Cl nanosheet photocatalysts were successfully prepared via facile solvothermal and mechanical stirring approach. Through the optimization and verification of the proportion for each component, MoS2/PbBiO2Cl composites exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity towards rose dye rhodamine B(RhB) and colorless antibiotic ciprofloxacin (CIP) when the mass ratio of MoS2 was 1 wt%. Besides, the connection between the marvelous photocatalytic performance and the particular structure of the two dimensional (2D) MoS2/PbBiO2Cl composites through various characterization techniques, such as XRD, BET, FT-IR and UV–vis. Simultaneously, electron spin resonance (ESR) experiments and radicals quenching experiments proved that the main active species were superoxide radicals and holes. The photocatalytic mechanism was put forward on the basis of the above results, and this study aims to exploit more photocatalysts in the field of environmental remediation.
