Abstract
Contract provisions is one of the critical factors that lead to Construction project success. They should allow the parties to behave as a team without conflicts of interests. Construction contracts used in different countries have different arrangements to deal with project ring. In this paper, contract provisions that accommodate project rime are determined. In order to facilitate contract administration, it is suggested that the Critical Park Method (CPM) be used for preparing project schedule as it is a powerful and decisive tool that could be used by the Engineer to determine the responsibility of the parties towards various project delays and work changes, Problems associated with the use of CPM are presented and suitable solutions are suggested. Contract provisions that accommodate the use of CPM are then derived to be used with Egyptian construction contacts. Corresponding changes that should be introduced in the current contract are discussed. The recommendations of this research would hopefully be taken into consideration into the Construction Balanced Contract that is being suggested by the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors.
