Abstract

Construction is among the top priorities in the economy; it has direct impact on the population’s standard of life. Trends in construction resent some key indexes to evaluate the level of economic and social development of a country. During the latest decades, the above-mentioned notions have brought forward the cluster policy, which can dramatically influence the competitive strength of both the construction business and of the national economy as a whole. The particular feature of cluster policy is that it unites the economic and social policy of the State with management of business entities. The purpose of the present article is as follows: basing on the analysis of the performance of construction clusters of various countries in Europe, highlight their common and specific features and propose directions for further development. The tasks of the present investigation are: firstly, identify specific features of establishing and developing construction clusters; secondly, define the basic features of European construction clusters, thirdly, identify common and specific features of construction clusters in various countries of Europe, fourthly, propose courses of action to promote the cluster policy in regard to the sphere of construction.
