Construction and practice of all-optical campus network based on gigabit-capable passive optical networks

Abstract

Regarding to the disadvantages of the traditional three-tier campus network, we discuss the construction of all-optical campus network based on gigabit-capable passive optical networks (GPON) technology to meet the needs of network environment for intelligent campus. At the same time, the design of the interconnections between the three campuses of Shenzhen University is introduced. And taking the GPON networking case of the Lihu Campus as an example, we discusse the problems related to the implementation process of all-optical campus network.
