Abstract
This paper describes the construction and operation of a small electrostatic accelerator. The machine was built by undergraduate students in an Engineering Science Laboratory Course for seniors. The purpose of this paper is to describe some of the features of the machine with particular emphasis on construction techniques. The machine was built with surplus or salvaged equipment at a total cost of about $800.00. Several experiments which can be performed with the machine will be described.
