Abstract

AbstractThe mathematical study of picture languages (patterns) using generating grammars has its application in pattern recognition and image processing. A pixel picture language is a collection of pixel pictures drawn in a unit square grid using the chain code alphabets {u, d, l, r} with the interpretation of plotting one pixel on the right of the movement. The intangible model of brain where information is processed using spikes and neuron constitute spiking neural P systems (SN P systems) which is bio-inspired computing model. This model was found to compute chain code picture language and string languages. In this article, we construct the language of one-dimensional pixel pictures and O-shaped pixel picture languages by cell-like spiking neural P system with several types of spikes. The model can be applied to analyse and recognize pixel pictures appearing in a specific shape present in a large volume of data.KeywordsPixel picture languageSpiking neural P systemCell-like SN+P systemBig data
