Abstract

Anisotropic bulk Ni/Pt nanocomposites were constructed by aligning Ni/Pt nanowires, combining the advantages of nanotechnology, spin Seebeck effect (SSE), and anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) to enhance thermoelectric performance. The thermoelectric power can be improved by increasing the ANE and SSE coefficient, enhancing the thermal resistance in the direction of heat flow, and improving the utilization efficiency of the Ni/Pt interface. The results demonstrated that the ANE and SSE volage (VANE+SSE) of Ni/Pt nanocomposites are larger than the ANE volage (VANE) in bulk Ni nanocomposite. When the external magnetic field is along the nanowire, the VANE+SSE is increased by a factor of 1.52 compared to its perpendicular orientation. This work provides a new idea to enhance SSE and ANE voltage by constructing anisotropic bulk nanocomposites, providing an opportunity for their application in thermoelectric devices.
