Abstract

LiNiO2 Cathodes In article number 2211515, Weibo Hua and co-workers depict that oxygen ions are gradually released from surface lattice of LiNiO2 (R 3 ¯ $\bar{3}$ m) cathode material upon electrochemical cycling, resulting in the formation of a macroporous architecture and the reduction of nickel ions. Such chemomechanical degradation can be effectively mitigated through introducing a thin lattice-coherent disordered Li1-xNi1+xO2 phase in the primary particle surface.
