Abstract

This study compared the Occupational Aptitude Survey and Interest Schedule (OASIS) scores of 135 community college students with different academic majors. Eighteen one-way ANOVAs were run with the OASIS subtests as the dependent variables and academic major as the independent variable. Students with mechanical-related majors scored higher on the Mechanical interest scale, students with business-related majors scored higher on the Business-Detail interest scale, and students with humanitarian-related majors scored higher on the Humanitarian interest scale than did other groups, providing evidence for the construct validity of the OASIS Interest Schedule.
