Abstract

Social capital studies have been the object of investigation in most empirical investigations, addressed by various disciplines and emerging different concepts of social capital and approaches to the construction of social capital. Social capital is typical interaction between the individuals, and these derives in collective actions, through the practice of certain aspects such as trust, cooperation, social networks, rules of coexistence and civic commitment. The present investigation addressed the identification of social capital in households linked to an association of a solidarity nature: the case of the Association of Producers of the Bajosabaleta village, "Agroprosabaleta" of the Espriella corregimiento. Therefore, the social capital of household members of a solidarity organization and the social capital builds an organization association were investigated. A qualitative methodology was used; Information collection instruments such as surveys, semi-structured interviews and participatory workshops were applied, which allowed the association's member households to be characterized and social capital to be identified from the aspects of trust and reciprocity, social networks, cooperation and participation, communication and information, leadership and civic commitment, at the household and association level, the verification was made in the field, if the association operates under the characteristics of the social and solidarity economy and its relationship with the actors present in the territory. As a main finding, it was found that the characteristics of households and aspects of social capital: trust and reciprocity, social networks, cooperation and participation, communication and information, leadership, and civic commitment, influence the construction of social capital that leads its multiplication. and the sustainability of organizations of a solidarity nature.
