Abstract

Meningococcal pericarditis is a rare illness seen as a complication of meningococcal meningitis, 1 with a reported incidence ranging from 0 of 8,844 cases to 6 of 32 cases treated in young Army trainees. 2 Pericardial tamponade and, rarely, acute pericardial constriction have been described. We report a case of constrictive pericarditis that occurred 13 years after an episode of meningococcal pericarditis.
