Abstract
Fertile, well-watered highlands rise slowly from Kenya's corner of Lake Victoria and fill out a fifth of the Republic's territory, nearly the whole of the southwest of the country, with what is called high potential agricultural land. This fifth includes the former White Highlands and produces much beef and dairy produce, wheat, coffee, and pyrethrum.
