Abstract

The requirement that all the eigenvalues of the spin density matrix ϱ are positive imposes a set of constraints on the values possible for the statistical tensors t L M which characterize ϱ. Here, these constraints on t L M are given explicitly for spin values J ≦ 2 for the case of particles produced in strong interaction processes. The constraints on ϱ itself are given as a set of inequalities, valid for arbitrary J.
