Abstract

In this paper, a constitutive relation is constituted for dense granular flow as Non‐Newton fluid. This model indicates that the velocity of granular flow obeys exponential distribution, and the flow rate is a function of chute angle and flow thickness. Our simulation shows that the exponential is different when flow’s velocity changing. Based on the experiment of wheat granular flow along an inclined rough chute, the coefficients of constitutive relation of the wheat granular flow are calculated. Analyzing wheat granular chute flow with fluid dynamics and using the coefficients of the constitutive, the relative error of the prediction of the volume flow comparing with corresponding experimental or simulation data is less than 13%.
