Abstract

This paper, summing up a collective research project, sketches common features of constitutional adjudication in the European legal space and highlights strategies to face authoritarian tendencies in some EU Member States. It shows the legitimacy of operationalizing EU values against such tendencies and the importance of constructive co-operation. Co-operation is more than more or less friendly conversations. Only if the various courts act in unison, they will live up their role in the European legal space.
