Abstract

The constituents of the essential oil of Matricaria decipiens C. Koch (Asteraceae) were investigated by GLC and GC–MS. Twenty-seven components, representing 96% of the oil, were characterized. The major components were isomers of matricaria ester with 1,8-cineole. The different isomers of matricaria ester were separated by TLC and preparative HPLC. The stereochemistry of the different isomers was assigned by NMr spectral data. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
