Abstract

A closed-form analytical expression is derived in the paper, linking five parameters (coil inductances, compensating capacitor values and coupling coefficient) of a typical series-series compensated resonant inductive wireless power transfer link (WPTL) with given operating frequency so that the output voltage remains load independent. It is shown that for a given operating frequency, infinite amount of compensation capacitor pairs exists, yielding load independent voltage gain. Feasible solutions range is determined and it is demonstrated that two commonly used operation points are particular cases of the proposed generalized design expression. Intuitive explanation based on generalized loosely coupled transformer model is also provided.
