Abstract

In this paper, a constant frequency hysteresis-Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (CFH-SVPWM) current tracking control strategy for parallel hybrid active power filter (APF) is proposed. Adaptive hysteresis bandwidth (AHB) is calculated according to the hysteresis current controller, which could ensure that the switching frequency of power devices is constant value with little deviation. And selected space voltage vectors of three-phase voltage source converter (VSC) make compensation currents generated by the APF track reference currents detected by id-iq method quickly and accurately. A model of APF system is designed and simulated with the MATLAB Simulink/Power System Toolbox, and an experimental prototype with up to 12kVA apparent power is built. Simulation and experiment results demonstrate that APF system based on the proposed control method can make three-phase source currents approximate sinusoidal waveforms with the THD (total harmonic distortion) meeting with recommendations on harmonic limits of the IEEE 519-1992 standard, and unity power factor at ac-side achieve.
