Abstract

In the history of traditional Chinese philosophy, the meaning of the concept of constancy and change is intimately connected with the concept of movement and stillness. The two concepts share both similarities and differences. Constancy and stillness refer not only to the relationship between activity and rest. The previous chapter has already given an exposition of the concept of movement and stillness and so this chapter will give an exposition of the changes in the concept of constancy and change throughout history.
