Considerations on the cross section for pion production in proton-proton collisions

Abstract

The Chew- Low extrapolation method is applied to the cross section for pion production in the processes p + p → n + p + pi + and p + p → p + p + pi 0. It is concluded that process two gives twice as much information for each experimental event. The relation between the moments of the incoming protons and outgoing nucleons and pions is discussed.
