Abstract

Several mechanical and biological complications can occur after dental implant treatment. One such complication is peri-implantitis, an inflammation of the tissues surrounding the implant prosthesis due to plaque depo-sition, resulting in bone loss. Improperly designed implant prostheses can make it difficult to maintain proper oral hygiene, which can accelerate inflammation. We reviewed the literatures for considerations for implantprosthetics to ensure a stable long-term prognosis.
