Abstract
Pain mechanism of osteoarthritis was discussed by differentiating pain at the stage of disease progression and pain on each joint structure. Pain on the course of disease progression was divided into the three stages: acute inflammatory, chronic inflammatory and bone pain stages. Pain on each structure should be differentiated as pain from synovial capsule, fibrous capsule and periarticular structures. Pain in the chronic inflammatory stage is various in each case and pain around the joint should be well understood.
