Abstract

0 n 81-year-old woman was referred to our department by er dentist after several unsuccessful attempts had been made o reduce her bilateral mandibular dislocation. Examination rior displacement of both condyles, particularly the articular eminence. Because she had a history of cerebral infarction, she did not want a general anaesthetic. We, therefore, decided to reduce the dislocations by anterior elastic traction, using acrylic bite blocks in the molar region as a fulcrum.
