Abstract

In India an approach towards conservation of natural wealth, particularly plant resources, was initiated in the 3rd century BC, and is still continuing. A review of conservation efforts through the passage of time is described in the present paper. The proposed model “Sova ‐ I.S. Con.” for in‐situ conservation of subtropical plant resources may be universally applied, irrespective of geo‐climatic conditions.
