Abstract

Background and Aims: Atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by accumulation of lipids and inflammatory cells along the arterial interior walls, is a common discovery in the pulmonary arteries and is associated with a variety of clinical conditions. Published data sustain the involvement of diet on pathogenesis of immune-mediated diseases. To determine if the high fat diet (HFD), in the absence of obesity, could modulate the altered pulmonary arteries reactivity associated to allergic lung diseases.
