Abstract

In Egypt the only known outcrop of Triassic rocks is at Gebel Araif el Naga, northeast Sinai, near the Palestine border. Micropaleontologic studies of the Triassic shales revealed the presence of conodonts heretofore found in only Paleozoic beds. Discussion by E. B. Branson and M. G. Mehl questions the age of the conodonts.
